Jim Green began his career in the furniture industry in 1975 at Kane’s Furniture, at the time the dominant retail furniture company in Florida. Hired for an entry-level position and advancing to the position of Vice President, Merchandise Manager, Jim was also responsible for the sales and marketing efforts of the company as well as being the number two executive, reporting to the company’s founder. During this time, the company was the #1 net percentage profit producer in the US of all public furniture retailers, reporting. The company grew to inclusion in the top 30 largest retailers as reported by Furniture/Today at the time. Following this phase of his career, in 1982 Jim moved on to become the Merchandise Manager for furniture and bedding for Maas Brothers / Jordan Marsh throughout Florida, large department store chains and divisions of Allied Stores. In 1989 he opened a retail furniture company in Clearwater, FL and operated it for two years until its closing in 1991, a victim of the recessionary times. Following this retailing chapter of his career, Jim became a successful sales representative for several major furniture manufacturing companies. In 2001, he chose to leave the life of a sales representative and earned an MBA in Management, a lifelong dream.
